'100 Happy Days' Challenge: Days 85 - 91

Happy Grati-Tuesday!

This week has given me so many things to be grateful for - quality time with family and friends; two fantastic days of birthday celebrations including a game of supa golf and lunch out in the Swan Valley, a run and a morning of pampering with a girlfriend and a surprise lunch and tenpin bowling with my husband; and the opportunity to take some time out to focus on planning for the future and starting new hobbies.

I was speaking to my girlfriend yesterday and telling her how lucky I am that Scotty always plans nice things for me. She said that because I do the same for him it would make him want to do things for me in return.

This is true in any relationships in life, with family, friends or partners. If you put time and effort into your relationships you will receive the same in return. And it's only when you don't receive the same that you need to take a step back and think about whether or not it's a healthy relationship to be in, whether that's with a partner or with friends.

As important as it is to put 100% into your relationships, it's also important to realise when they are no longer working.

And that doesn't mean that you should only do things for people expecting something in return, because there's nothing nicer than doing things for others 'just because', but it does mean that you deserve the best in life and deserve to be treated the way you treat others.

I've removed myself from a few friendships over the last year because they weren't having positive effects on my life, and I'm happier now than I've ever been.

Everything you do in life should be done to bring you happiness. At the end of the day, life's too short to be anything but happy.

With that said, here's a few of the things that have made me happy this week:

Day 85 - 'Katy Perry tickets arrived today for me and my little sis! Now we just need to wait 7 months until the concert.'
My younger sister and I have been to so many concerts together, we always have the best time!
Day 86 - 'No matter how good today gets, nothing will beat waking up to a text from my beautiful Mumma in NZ. She is not a phone person (I had to teach her how to do full stops while we were in NZ) and this would've taken her a good 10 minutes to write! There's nothing more special than a daughter's bond with her Mumma!'
I can't wait to have mum back in Aus on Thursday!
Day 87 - 'I had the best time wandering around Scrapbook Secrets today and stocking up on supplies so that I can start creating some masterpieces! Can't wait for my first scrapbooking class so that I can actually learn what I'm doing!'
For over 12 months now I've been saying I want to get into scrapbooking, but I've never made the time. Finally, I feel like I've got the time to start.
Day 88 - 'Perfect Friday night in - watching the Eels beat the Broncos.'
Living in WA we don't get to watch the Eels play as much as we'd like, so this was a great way to spend the night.
Day 89 - 'Today was the first time in ages I've been able to make it to the farmers market (crazy considering it's on our 'front lawn'). Was so much fun buying fresh produce to use to cook breakfast (spinach and feta omelette with a side of avocado).'
I love wandering around the markets and buying fresh produce to cook with!
Day 90 - 'A birthday feast with some of my faves!'
I had such a lovely day with family and friends celebrating my birthday out in the Swan Valley.
Day 91 - 'Perfect end to the perfect birthday - getting a message back from our fave DJ to say he'll be playing in Sydney while we're there!! Time to go shopping for something to wear.'
We've seen Steve Hill play a couple of times in Christchurch and once in Auckland... Can't wait to see him play at his local in Sydney!
