This week has given me so many things to be grateful for - quality time with family and friends; two fantastic days of birthday celebrations including a game of supa golf and lunch out in the Swan Valley, a run and a morning of pampering with a girlfriend and a surprise lunch and tenpin bowling with my husband; and the opportunity to take some time out to focus on planning for the future and starting new hobbies.
I was speaking to my girlfriend yesterday and telling her how lucky I am that Scotty always plans nice things for me. She said that because I do the same for him it would make him want to do things for me in return.
This is true in any relationships in life, with family, friends or partners. If you put time and effort into your relationships you will receive the same in return. And it's only when you don't receive the same that you need to take a step back and think about whether or not it's a healthy relationship to be in, whether that's with a partner or with friends.
As important as it is to put 100% into your relationships, it's also important to realise when they are no longer working.
And that doesn't mean that you should only do things for people expecting something in return, because there's nothing nicer than doing things for others 'just because', but it does mean that you deserve the best in life and deserve to be treated the way you treat others.
I've removed myself from a few friendships over the last year because they weren't having positive effects on my life, and I'm happier now than I've ever been.
Everything you do in life should be done to bring you happiness. At the end of the day, life's too short to be anything but happy.
With that said, here's a few of the things that have made me happy this week:

| Day 88 - 'Perfect Friday night in - watching the Eels beat the Broncos.' Living in WA we don't get to watch the Eels play as much as we'd like, so this was a great way to spend the night. |

| Day 90 - 'A birthday feast with some of my faves!' I had such a lovely day with family and friends celebrating my birthday out in the Swan Valley. |
